AHEAD BLACK TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY (ABTU) is founded on a robust, lawful, and transparent leadership framework designed to uphold academic excellence, institutional integrity, and societal impact. The University’s leadership and governance structures fully comply with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act (2001), as amended, and the NCHE Quality Assurance Framework.
The Governing Council is the highest decision-making organ of our University. It provides strategic direction, approves policies, oversees institutional performance, and safeguards the University’s long-term vision and sustainability. The Council ensures accountability, ethical leadership, and alignment with national higher education standards.
The University Senate is responsible for all academic matters, including:
- Academic standards and quality assurance
- Approval of academic programmes and curricula
- Research, innovation, and publication oversight
- Examination and assessment policies
Through the Senate, ABTU guarantees that teaching, learning, and research remain research-driven, competency-based, and socially relevant
The Appointments Board, supported by the Directorate of Human Resources, oversees recruitment, promotion, and staff welfare. This ensures that the University attracts and retains highly qualified academic, administrative, and support staff, consistent with NCHE requirements
Day-to-day management of Ahead Black Technology University(ABTECH) is carried out by the Officers of the University, who include:
